My area of interest having some specialization in psychology is on children development. Thus, the research question is about the model of thinking of children, level of children development affect their actions. From the research, it will be possible to come up with the reasons why children act the way they do. It will be clear that every action that the kids took the result from their thinking. The research will help understand the minds of the adolescents and the children.
There are several peer-reviewed articles which seek to explain on the development of children and their model of thinking. Some of them shall be outlined in the paragraphs below. The discussion will be based on various aspects and concepts which include the relevance, credibility and authority, timelessness, audiences and the biases of the article. The first section under analysis is on the social cognitive theory of personality which was written by Albert Bandura of the Stanford University. There is much that one can learn from this article regarding the social cognitive development and the reasons why people behave the way they do. The article does not have a specific audience; it is addressed to all (Bandura, 1999).
On the other hand, none of the information in the article is limited by time. The article is of high relevance. It has described human personality and why people are the way they are. According to the article, basing the author’s argument on the agentic social cognitive view, people are described as being pro-active, self-organizing, self-regulating and self-reflecting amongst other characteristics. It further describes that people always have the power to influence the actions that they take so that they can produce a particular result. It thus implies that everything starts in mind. The article has described the reasons for individual human behavior (Bandura, 1999). The article is however biased since it has not defined on whether the behavior is to both the adults and the children. It has generalized the study to be that of children other than basing it on children individually as expected. The point of view used in the third-person perspective.it does not focus on a particular person but human beings as a whole. The article, however, is still credible since children are still people and thus one can derive some information from the same.
The other peer-reviewed article which would be put into consideration is the article on children’s early development and learning. It was a research which was conducted by a first independent French called Geraldine. It was such an important paper which even gained commissioning from the NCCA or the National Council for curriculum and assessment. The relevance of this article is that it helps the reader know how one needs to understand children as young learners. The article is closely related to the research question (French, 2007). The article is however based since it focuses on how children develop and learn in their childhood ages in one of the regions. The attention relies on the children of Ireland. A conclusion can, however, be made for the development and behavior of children is nearly the same I all the regions. A keen analysis of the article reveals that there are various fundamental processes in which children develop and learn. The report is credible for research as the NCCA even approved it. There were quite valid sources of the information which was in the paper. One of the sources was the 1999 child care act. The research is only limited to the study of children. From the analysis of the article, it has no particular audience. Anyone can use it as a point of reference. The third-person perspective was utilized in the paper or the article to represent children as they were the core point of discussion (French, 2007).
The last article which was under evaluation is that one on learning and assessment through interactions. The article is of great relevance as it gives the adequacy of building relationships in the early stages of childhood development. According to the article, it is clear that early interactions help babies feel secure, communicate and also enjoy other people’s company.it is during this time that most of the children develop the ability to think. The article is also relevant since it brings out how one can develop healthy relationships with the children. The various strategies are described fully.one can assume that the audience of the article is anyone who lives around children during their childhood ages as they develop. I did not find any baseness from the article. Further, the article was entirely credible since all the information was valid and equally important for my study (learning and developing through interactions).
From some of the articles there some related issues to the research. In the article regarding learning and evaluation of children, there are various issues which the author brought forth. I felt that the issues were closely related to the closely related to the research questions .one of the things that things article seeks to know the best strategies which one could apply when interacting with the children during their development stages. From this article, one can conclude that every action which children have towards a person depends on the way one handles them. If they register in their mind that one is not a right person, then they develop having that perspective in the spirit which is difficult to erase. In the article of children’s early development and learning if one has a clear analysis of it. One can come up with how children can develop a relationship between the actions they take and their thinking. From one of the presented incidences, it is clear that every action begins from what they synthesis in the brain.
As seen in the second article, it is clear that everything that a child does starts from the brain, the first perspective that a child takes from a particular thing results in the child behaving in a certain way. The relationship which the children develop with the peers’ results in them to act in a certain way. The environment surrounding the children also prompt them to act as they do and I also support that statement as given in one of the articles. From what I collected in most of the articles, most of the information was in line with my thoughts, and thus nothing differed. The studies tend to have almost the same information. The only material which tends to change is that on social cognitive development since the information given is not subjective to children alone (Bandura, 2009).
The central point and idea which the studies have in common are that the thinking model of the children is determined by the environment which the children grow. The people and the environment that the children grow in results in the character and the reactions of a child as they grow. What they perceive and how they view things and people who surround them influences their thinking. From the analysis of the three articles, I did not find any significant contrasting point. Everything was in line with the subject of discussion which relates to the development process of the children.
The primary concept of the research as presented earlier is understanding how people think and in particular the children. From the findings, it is clear that what surround the children during the development process affects their thinking.it is hence clear that parents or those who up bring the children should be cautious as they raise their children. Everything that surrounds them during this stage affects how they reason and act.it may not be easy to realize this, but it remains a fact. The findings will also be important in analyzing the ethics which are required in the field of a psychology professional. From the readings, one should only up bring the children in an ethically developed environment. If the children learn from an environment which is morally polluted, then they eventually growing without ethics. It will often result in unethical actions.
Some of the best strategies which the researches indicates are that a good relationship should be built between the children and the peers as it influences their behavior. The parents especially can highly influence the thinking model of the children by what they expose them to when they are young. Care hence needs to be taken at the tender age. All the parents’ need to be aware of the cognitive development stages of the children and learn what process goes on at each stage so that they can be cautious during development (Hamre, et al., 2013). When the parents are careful, it is expected that they will be in a position to understand why children develop certain behaviors and why some of them develop certain attitudes towards other people. The research will help me in my future career and will help me accomplish my vision of learning more about the development process of the children and why they act as they do. As a psychologist, I specifically want to deal with the kids, and thus I need to learn more about their actions. I would also want to learn the development stages of the children and why some of them develop a bad attitude towards their parents (Dobler, 2007). I could hence revise the vision statement which I had stated in unit three to be, learning the development and the thinking process of children and the actions which result from their thinking.
