But I was required that to narrow the topic to one aspect of farming practices or food processing.

Below were the conversation between me and professor:

Me: Briefly explain what current domestic or foreign issue you want to write about

The current domestic issue I would like to explain is Food Safety in China

Professor: Conditionally approved. Limit the scope regarding food safety because the topics can become quite overwhelming. You may need to limit the scope to one aspect of farming practices or food processing.

Me: Ok. I will narrow my topic to food processing

Professor: Thank you. And remember you can limit the scope further by researching one specific topic such as tomato paste food processing. Only a suggestion, you are free to choose.
