Letter to the Editor

You will write a paper suitable for publication as a short magazine essay, a newspaper op-ed piece or a letter to the editor. It should express a definite point of view and an argument—it should aim to persuade readers on some issue related to the definition, classification and/or education of people with exceptionalities. Whether or not you actually submit the article for publication is entirely up to you, but you must write it with a specific publication in mind. This writing assignment should be short enough so that your reader will finish reading it, and long enough to present your argument—typically about 2-3 pages.
