The winning side placed the blame for the world wide war of 1914 to 1918 on Germany, as indicated in the war guilt clause that you read from the Versailles Peace Treaty. Your topic for this written assignment is whether Germany deserved to be blamed for World War One. Your focus is on the summer and fall of 1914, not the later conduct of the war.  Either justify the guilt placed on Germany OR argue against it. You must include facts to support your position. In formulating your answer, review again the text material and the additional information in this module, including documents seen earlier:   “You Have to Bear Responsibility for War or Peace” and the chronology of the first events of the war.
