ANOVA (Analysis of variance) is used for testing numerous treatments. The ANOVA is a collection of statistical models and their associated estimation procedures (such as the “variation” among and between groups) used to analyze the differences among group means in a sample (Grove & Cipher, 2017, p. 179). When using ANOVA each individual should be affected by the treatment similarly. One- way ANOVA differentiates three or more populations when there is one factor of interest. There are certain requirements that need to be met before the use of a one- way ANOVA, such as population distribution normal, the populations having the same variance, simple random samples of quantitative data, samples are independent, and the samples are different and classified in only one way. There are drawbacks to using ANOVA is not showing if there is a difference in the treatments by using a post hoc test which is a test that shows the difference in treatment and minimizes error and bias.
