Criteria plays a vital element in the arena of I/O psychologists which mirrors either the organization or the employee’s performance (Levy, 2013).Performance is a main concentration for I/O psychologists which examines the behavior of the employee on the job that relates to the company’s goals (Levy, 2013).Criteria consists of both ultimate and actual criterion (Levy, 2013).Ultimate criterion entails all facets for accomplishment of the specific job (Levy, 2013).Actual criterion represents ultimate criterion as it also mirrors or extends beyond it (Levy, 2013).A criterion can be either good or bad depending on the different dimensions that are evaluated (Levy, 2013).There are five criteria’s that consist of relevance, reliability, sensitivity, practicality, and fairness (Levy, 2013).Relevance is the most important amongst the five which needs to be present for a good criterion (Levy, 2013).Relevance can be limited by both criterion deficiency and criterion contamination (Levy, 2013).Criterion deficiency is when there are sizes of the ultimate measure that is not a portion of the genuine measure (Levy, 2013).Criterion contamination is when things are measured that are not actually part of the ultimate criterion (Levy, 2013).
